Lavender:
One of the most popular herbs since ancient times, Lavender lifts the spirits and soothes the soul. Its name comes from the Latin "lavare" (to wash), inspired by the Roman custom of scenting bathwater with leaves and flowers. Donna Karan's Lavender comes from a select crop from the celebrated summer of 2003 in Provence. The designated flowers were picked early in the morning, during mid-July through mid-August, when the flowers start to fan out and reach their maximum fragrant content.
